MOREE NSW DAY 2

4 Jun, 2015

After such a great day with the primary students of St Philomena’s yesterday, Lauren and Clint were excited to work with the secondary students at Moree Secondary College, and Moree Christian College on day 2 of the tour.
Before performing for the students, the Homunculus duo led the students in a 2 hour workshop on clown, commedia and slapstick. A jam packed 2 hours full of laughter and discoveries, the students also learned the importance of focus and supporting their fellow audience members on stage.

Clown can be a vulnerable state, especially for a student who is working with clown for the first time, so it’s important that their fellow students encourage and support them 100%. The playing space should be safe and and respected, allowing the students to feel that they can discover without being judged or criticised.
After a quick break, it was time to get the sets up and prepare for an afternoon performance of “The Spirit Of The Mask”. The students got right into the nature of the show, participating with lots of laughter. They were an absolute joy to perform to!

To finish off the day, it was a quick pack down of set and costume and on to teach the last workshop of the day to the Moree drama club children. It was all about working together as an ensemble, creating characters, mask, clown and embracing creativity with these students this afternoon. To teach these students who clearly have a passion and natural drive for drama was a lot of fun, and the perfect way to end the day.

Thanks guys!
